Publication of the MICA regulation

It will enter into force 20 days later, but a deadline until December 30, 2024, is provided for the application of its legislative provisions. However, certain provisions, mainly relating to stable coins, will enter into force earlier, namely on June 30, 2024. Digital Asset Service Providers already licensed under national frameworks will benefit from an 18-month reprieve after application to obtain their MiCA approval, i.e., until the second quarter of 2026. The publication of the regulatory technical standards (RTS) should be done in two stages: a first batch for this summer and the second in the autumn.
